The Ushers of St. Martin of Tours are the first to welcome worshipers as they enter our Church, helping them to feel welcome and at ease.

Training/Skills:  Polite and friendly demeanor. The diocese offers a one-time class for Ushers.

Time Needed: Arrive 15 minutes ahead of assigned Mass. Attendance usually once weekly and/or at other special Masses such as Holy Days of Obligation.

Tasks/Responsibilities:  Ushers direct parishioners to available seats; select individuals to bring up the Offertory gifts; help with parish collections; assist in an orderly procession for receiving communion; distributes materials such as bulletins and handouts; etc. They take the collection to the lock box. At the conclusion of each Mass, ushers assist in an orderly dismissal of the parishioners, distribution of parish bulletins, and straighten up the pews at the same section he or she did the collection.

Length of Service:  No set time frame. Member’s discretion.
