One of the "behind the scenes" ministries is the Altar Society.  Members can choose from two different tasks:  clean the church door windows, light dusting of the altar and chapel, change the altar cloths when necessary or wash the used linens*

*Purificators (pictured) are folded in thirds and placed over the chalice and under the paten.  These small linens, are the most frequently laundered of all linens in liturgical use.  They are used to clean the chalice and paten after communion.  Volunteers are on a rotation schedule to pick up the used linens, wash and iron them at home, then drop them off at the rectory or the church.
