Ministers of the Word, are lectors who proclaim the Word of God to the assembly of the faithful at Masses on Saturday, Sunday, Holy Days and other special services throughout the year. 

Candidates must attend a Diocesan Lector Training Course and also a one-on-one training with Deacon Tom in the parish church.  Course notifications are posted in the parish bulletin as soon as they become available through the Office of Worship.

Time needed is usually an hour every few weeks. A schedule is provided by Jerry Della Rocca for all lectors well in advance of the dates of service.

St. Martin of Tours welcomes all those who feel the call to serve as lector.  Contact Deacon Tom or call the rectory office at 516-931-0818 for more information.

Children Lectors:  Children are invited to become lectors to do the readings at the 10a.m. Sunday Family Mass.  Please call the rectory (516) 931-0818 for more information if your child is interested.
